Paul and Patricia live in Legana, a small town just outside of Lauceston in Tasmania. We have both been involved in the dog world for quite a number of years, Paul for approx 40 and Patricia for approx 25.
Paul has been involved with golden retrievers for approximately 40 years, my first being a young bitch rescued from the Toowoomba dogs home.
I began showing in Tasmania in 1977 when we purchased our first registered girl. This was a steep learning curve but I got the bug and decided to add a second, dog this time and I set about the religious weekend trek to every show in the State. I also took up obedience training and trialing, eventually gaining his CDX title, Aust Ch Pascale Sion Aur CDX.
I have bred goldens under the Tweedwater prefix with my foundation bitch being Aust Ch Chantesuta Pippa who produced some outstanding puppies, with one of particular note being Aust Ch. Tweedwater Brengwain the foundation bitch of Beaucroft kennels in Victoria.
I gained my gundog license in the early 90ís. I currently hold championship licenses for groups 3, 4, and 5. I am currently studying for the Terrier group work permitting.
My judging experience includes the Queensland Golden Retriever Club Specialty Show in 2000, Auckland New Zealand Golden Retriever Specialty 1996, The South Australian Setter Club Specialty and The Northern NSW Gundog Club Specialty. I have also judged extensively at All breeds shows in Tasmania, Victoria, South Australia and NSW, and New Zealand.
Marrying Patricia in 2000 brought together our two small kennels Golden retrievers (Tweedwater) and English setters (Carlyra). We are currently campaigning Ch. B eaucroft Fait Acompli (Golden Retriever), Wyndswept's Token to Carlyra (Imp U.S.A., and Carlyra Essential Saphire (English Setters). We have also owned and campaigned Salukis and PBGVs, and quite a number of years ago Patricia commenced with Great Danes, trialling Zycara Lyra and Ch. Taneric Charm CD.
Patricia became involved with English Setters in 1982 after being introduced to them by Paul. I have only bred about 6 litters in that time, I only breed when I feel that I need another dog to show. I would like to acknowledge the assistance that I have been given by Skip and Peggi Dunsmuir (Timbertrail Kennels, Tennessee USA) Bob and Kerry Lamb (Talshae Kennels - NSW) and Debi Mack and Elliott Weise (Wyndswept Kennels - Idaho USA) Without all the assistance and advice that they have given me I would not be where I am now, I thank you all.
During our time showing we have successfully bred a Grand Champion and compagined dogs to Best In Show wins.
